Solid-State Sensor
LSS-XXX-N1
The LSS sensor uses a porous metal oxide with catalyst that is heated by a small internal heater. The sensor exhibits a large decrease in resistance when exposed to the target gas.
Characteristics
- Long life (5 to 10 years). Sensor life is shortened (to a few months) if exposed continuously to interferent gas.
- As the sensor ages, it will normally become more sensitive.
- Has broad-spectrum characteristics, i.e., it will sense gases other than the target gas, but is more selective than many solid-state devices.
- Requires a heated enclosure if used in temperatures of 0°F or below.
- Keep sensor away from extreme moisture changes and high air movement.
Applications
- Ideal sensor for ventilation control with outside fresh air make-up where no other gases are present.
- Recommended for chiller rooms (R-22), garage ventilation (CO), and battery charging areas (H2) where gas specific sensing is not critical to plant operation.
- Do not apply where smoked meats, bananas and other fruits or vegetables are stored.
- Not good for low ppm setpoints, washdown areas, food processing rooms, rooms where cleaning solvents are used, etc.
