VL
Vent Line Leak Detector
The Manning Systems VL vent line sensor continuously monitors relief line headers for ammonia and fluorocarbon refrigeration systems of industrial facilities, including food processing and storage warehouses.
General Description
High concentrations of refrigerant gases in vent lines are warnings of system overpressure or leaking relief valves. Either can pose danger to employees and equipment.
Designed to be installed in refrigeration vent lines, the VL is supplied with a 2" cast steel "T", plug and nipple. The sensor is embedded in a 2" forged steel bull plug and wires to a pre-amp (in separate NEMA 4 enclosure) for electrically connecting the sensor to a monitor. The VL must be used with the mounting kit supplied by Manning Systems.
The Vent Line Leak Detector can be electrically connected to and monitored by all Manning Systems readouts or send a linear 4/20 mA signal directly to a PLC.
Please discuss with Manning Systems all details of vent line applications, including whether the relief is venting to atmosphere or a water tank. Contact Manning Systems for complete specifications.
Monitor one to 96 sensors from a single controller
All Manning Systems sensors can be monitored by the GM-1 single channel gas monitor or the GM-10 or GM-4 multi-channel gas safety systems that provide an individual bargraph display of gas concentration for each channel, plus relay outputs for emergency response and ventilation control.
The new AirAlert 96d multi-channel gas monitoring system adds addressable RS-485 Modbus communication protocol to the broad line of Manning Systems readout/alarm units. A total of 96 gas sensors and relay modules can be linked to a single controller.
The "C" and "US" indicator adjacent to the CSA Mark signifies that the product has been evaluated to the applicable ANSI/UL and CSA Standards for use in the U.S. and Canada. This includes products eligible to bear the NRTL indicator. NRTL, i.e. Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory, is a designation granted by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to laboratories which have been recognized to perform certification to U.S. Standards.
