Relay Plug
With the addition of this inexpensive accessory, a single sensor becomes a control device with internal adjustable trip level and relay output. The RP gives you an inexpensive control solution without compromising the quality of your primary gas measurement device.
The RP Relay Plug can be plugged into any Manning Systems sensor and terminates the 4/20 mA output, converting the sensor to a relay output device. The alarm trip point is set using a 10 position rotary DIP switch and controls a Form C dry contact. RP requires the customer to provide a 24 VDC supply voltage applied to the "+24" and "GND" terminals.
Operation
The RP replaces the standard four position sensor plug normally provided with all Manning Systems 4/20 mA output sensors. Since the plug is a stand alone device, only two wires are required to power the plug and sensor. The current requirements for the RP are minimal and will be met by the requirement for the sensor.
The relay is an energized Form C dry contact with a 10 second ON / 10 second OFF time delay. The green LED (wired in series with the relay) is "ON" when conditions are "normal".
The alarm setpoint is adjusted using the rotary switch located next to the power terminal block. Each number represents 10% of the full scale of the sensor.
Relay will trip if 1) the signal exceeds the alarm trip point, 2) upon loss of power to the plug, or 3) loss of signal from the sensor.
