Modbus/Ethernet Port

Manning Systems now offers network connectivity for the GM-10 and GM-4 via Ethernet or RS-485 using the Sixnet EtherTRAK,® Module model ET-16A12-4. Any of the following methods may be used to access network modules:

Standard I/O Drivers

Drivers have been incorporated into a number of SCADA, control and MMI packages to give you direct access to the IO map. Among these are: Citect, Intellution products, ISaGRAF, Nema Soft and Think and Do.

OPC Server

An OPC server is available that will respond to OPC messages from Windows applications that have an OPC client. OPC messages allow I/O to be accessed from certain SCADA or MMI packages such as Citect.

Modbus Protocol over Ethernet and Serial Ports

The network modules can be configured to respond to Modbus ASCII or RTU commands.

DLL Function Calls

Some Windows applications, such as Citect and ISaGRAF, use DLL function calls to access I/O. The DLL function calls read and write to memory locations in the Dynamic Link Library (DLL). The DLL is created automatically based upon information contained in the IO map configuration.

Write Your Own I/O Driver

Many applications can be written in C/C++ or Visual BASIC to send commands directly over Ethernet and serial ports.

Coming soon, an embedded web server that will allow access to GM-10/GM-4 data via any web browser on your company network.
