Linear Solid-State Gas Sensor

The Manning Systems LSS is a three-wire solid-state remote sensor with broad-spectrum sensing characteristics. It can be an effective, low-cost gas sensing device, but extreme care must be taken with details of application to minimize the possibility of nuisance trips. Best applications include carbon monoxide (parking garage), hydrogen (battery charging) and R-22 (chiller rooms) sensing. The sensor is not gas specific, but is more selective than many other solid-state sensors available today. LSS is shown with an optional GM-JR mounted in the sensor enclosure.

General Description

The LSS has linear 4/20 mA output, and can be monitored by any Manning Systems readout or tied directly to a PLC. Combined with the new Relay Plug option, which terminates the 4/20 signal and provides one relay output, the LSS offers a long term, low cost answer to ventilation control.

The LSS is housed in a heavy-duty hinged #16 gauge steel, NEMA 1 design gasketed enclosure. It is designed for use in non-hazardous areas.

Monitor one to 96 sensors from a single controller

All Manning Systems sensors can be monitored by the GM-1 single channel gas monitor or the GM-10 or GM-4 multi-channel gas safety systems that provide an individual bargraph display of gas concentration for each channel, plus relay outputs for emergency response and ventilation control.

The new AirAlert™ 96d multi-channel gas monitoring system adds addressable RS-485 Modbus communication protocol to the broad line of Manning Systems readout/alarm units. A total of 96 gas sensors and relay modules can be linked to a single controller.

The "C" and "US" indicator adjacent to the CSA Mark signifies that the product has been evaluated to the applicable ANSI/UL and CSA Standards for use in the U.S. and Canada. This includes products eligible to bear the NRTL indicator. NRTL, i.e. Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory, is a designation granted by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to laboratories which have been recognized to perform certification to U.S. Standards.
