EC-O2
Electrochemical Oxygen Sensor With Extended Life

The Manning Systems EC-O2 is a galvanic cell-type oxygen sensor that exhibits exceptionally long life (10 years at typical oxygen concentration of 20.9%), plus excellent chemical durability.

General Description

In the past, oxygen sensors have been prone to be short lived and, at times, erratic. The Manning Systems oxygen sensor utilizes a large supply of electrolyte that is formulated to be minimally affected by interference gases, even carbon dioxide (CO2). The sensor is also temperature compensated.

The standard O2 sensor is housed in a rugged #16 gauge, NEMA 1 design steel enclosure. An optional bargraph readout, which will provide a downscale alarm, can be mounted inside the enclosure. The transmitter/pre-amp provides a linear 4/20 mA current signal out in two ranges: 0-25% or 15-25%.

The oxygen sensor is board-mounted and easily replaceable. The transmitter/pre-amp has been designed with EMI and RFI filtering and shielding.

With technology available for selectively monitoring most common gases, the level of safety is greatly increased by including a "second nose" to monitor the offending gas and identify a problem long before oxygen displacement or depletion would otherwise be recognized. The Gases and Sensor Technology Reference lists many of the gases that can be monitored specifically by either electrochemical or infrared technology.

The EC-O2 enclosure with optional ATMOS equipped® technology allows it to meet all of its performance specifications down to 0° F and in condensing humidity environments or during washdown.

Monitor one to 96 sensors from a single controller

All Manning Systems sensors can be monitored by the GM-1 single channel gas monitor or the GM-10 or GM-4 multi-channel gas safety systems that provide an individual bargraph display of gas concentration for each channel, plus relay outputs for emergency response and ventilation control.

The new AirAlert™ 96d multi-channel gas monitoring system adds addressable RS-485 Modbus communication protocol to the broad line of Manning Systems readout/alarm units. A total of 96 gas sensors and relay modules can be linked to a single controller.

The redundancy provided by a Manning Primary Safety System (MPSS) gives an extra measure of gas monitoring protection and peace of mind. In addition, The EC-F9-NH3 can provide direct input into PLCs and computer control systems which accept a linear 4/20 mA signal either directly from the sensor or from Manning Systems GM-10, GM-4 and GM-1 stand-alone alarm consoles with relay or analog output.

The "C" and "US" indicator adjacent to the CSA Mark signifies that the product has been evaluated to the applicable ANSI/UL and CSA Standards for use in the U.S. and Canada. This includes products eligible to bear the NRTL indicator. NRTL, i.e. Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory, is a designation granted by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to laboratories which have been recognized to perform certification to U.S. Standards.
