Overview

Manning Systems not only provides a choice of sensor technologies for gas specific sensing, but features several "stand-alone" gas safety monitoring readouts to meet your complete facility gas detection requirements. This complete range of sensors and monitoring and control systems is supported by calibration gas kits, which are available for all sensors.

Manning gas sensors operate in a wide variety of hostile environments ranging from outdoor exposure, processing plants, freezers, chemical plants and HVAC applications, to specialty/military testing sites.

Electrochemical and infrared sensors for specific gases

Electrochemical sensors monitor ammonia, carbon monoxide, chlorine, chlorine dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen, oxygen, etc. Carbon dioxide, refrigerants, and high level ammonia are sensed with Infrared technology. Sensors are available in either fixed or portable designs for most gases.

Environmentally adaptive and self-checking

Manning Systems electrochemical and infrared sensors can be configured with the optional ATMOS equipped® technology that allows them to meet all of their performance specifications down to -50° F and in condensing humidity environments or during washdown.

Manning Systems latest innovation is its new family of gas sensing instruments with microprocessor-based SensorCheck™ technology.

Durable enclosures

Because we know that effective and reliable gas detection systems can save lives, Manning Systems is committed to high-quality, durable construction, including robust, well-designed steel sensor and readout enclosures. Manning sensors in Hoffman® steel boxes can be mounted easily and have pre-punched holes to accommodate conduit and flex. The enclosures have adequate room to work inside with high quality connectors that are removable for easy wire insertion. Unlike fragile plastic housings that may break in cold temperatures, Manning Systems enclosures have secured hardware and hinged doors to speed sensor installation in both cold and wet environments.

Reliable diffusion technology

Unlike sample draw systems, diffusion sensors monitor an entire facility continuously without the ever-present concern of pump or filter maintenance. The problem of sample degradation inherent to sample draw systems is not an issue with the solid reliability of diffusion devices.

Easy field calibration

Manning Systems sensors are calibrated easily in the field with certified calibration gas that is always available from us. Our entire calibration process takes about two minutes and any adjustment can be made quickly and easily at the sensor. Because our sensors are calibrated in place, there is never a moment when the facility is left unprotected and, most importantly, the sensor is calibrated in its actual operating environment, not under ideal lab conditions.

24-Hour Sentinel for Safety

The Manning Primary Safety System (MPSS) is a total, turnkey solution for the detection of toxic gas leaks showing gas safety status of an entire industrial facility at a single glance.

New digital monitor

The new AirAlert™ 96d multi-channel gas monitoring system adds addressable RS-485 Modbus communication protocol to the broad line of Manning Systems readout/alarm units. A total of 96 gas sensors and relay modules can be linked to a single controller.

Flexible output devices

For control options that do not include a stand-alone readout monitor, Manning Systems offers a variety of output devices to customize a control scheme to your operational requirements and budget.

Portable measurement

The EC-P2 is a portable gas measuring and data logging instrument, complete with an interchangeable target gas selective electrochemical sensor, primary and secondary batteries, charger, storage case, data logging software and RS-232 output cable. An internal pump delivers a positive sample flow for quick, accurate measurement displayed in real time. SMART-CELLs can be exchanged easily without need for calibration.

For personal protection see our line of personal protection portables for the single- and multi-sensor toxic gas detector market. These innovative, low-cost portables are ideal for industrial hygienists, safety managers, petrochemical applications, fire departments, police and emergency responders at risk of exposure to toxic contaminants.

Accessories and Services

Uninterruptible power systems (UPS), emergency shutdown panels and phone dialers further enhance the safety and reliability of these gas detection systems. Manning Systems Calibration Kits for field calibration and all gas standards are NIST traceable. All sensors are calibrated prior to shipment and calibration data is supplied from Manning Systems with all equipment.

The "C" and "US" indicator adjacent to the CSA Mark signifies that the product has been evaluated to the applicable ANSI/UL and CSA Standards for use in the U.S. and Canada. This includes products eligible to bear the NRTL indicator. NRTL, i.e. Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory, is a designation granted by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to laboratories which have been recognized to perform certification to U.S. Standards.
